Over the past 30 years of practicing orthodontics in Berkshire County, our office has seen many innovations and advancements that have vastly improved both patient experience and results. This is an exciting time in orthodontics and we look forward to sharing this with you and achieving a beautiful, healthy, and confident smile for your child.

We offer orthodontic treatment plans with the benefit of digital 3D CBCT radiographs that provide volumes of information and detail not available with 2D radiographs- and all with less radiation. We are able to project facial growth with and without treatment and can measure oral and nasal airway volumes to determine if they are healthy and adequate for good growth and development- and treat them if they are not. We now take dental molds digitally so that we can use software to produce the best dental correction possible.

Integrative Orthodontics – Integrative orthodontics is a multidisciplinary approach that combines conventional braces with alternative therapies in order to address the underlying causes of malocclusion, rather than simply focusing on the symptoms. The ultimate goal of an orthodontist who practices integrative orthodontics is to improve overall wellness and health, not simply correct misaligned teeth or bites. We use a number of therapies to accomplish this, ranging from traditional braces and clear aligners to MyoBrace, palate expanders, and more.

Airway Orthodontics – As part of our holistic approach to orthodontic treatment, we provide care that optimizes breathing through improving airway mechanics, muscle function, tongue posture, and arch development. Our state-of-the-art CBCT digital scanning technology allows us to diagnose airway disorders, which can then be treated with an appropriate orthodontic therapy.

MyoBrace – MyoBrace is an intraoral appliance system that corrects poor oral habits, improves jaw alignment, and optimizes facial development, which leads to better health. The appliance retrains your child to breathe through their nose and and corrects the tongue position, helping them keep their lips together and swallow correctly.

Berkshire Clear Align – Berkshire Clear Align is an orthodontist-designed clear aligner system available exclusively at Berkshire Airway Orthodontics. Patients love the system’s comfort, discreet appearance, and convenience, while parents appreciate its affordability compared to other clear aligners and braces.

Technology – As an orthodontist, Dr. O’Donnell stays up-to-date with the latest in dental technology to make treatment more comfortable and effective. Our practice uses cone beam scanner 3D imaging, 3D digital impressions, digital x-rays, dental lasers, digital intraoral cameras, and electronic medical records.

Dr. William C. O’Donnell earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry before going on to complete an advanced degree in the specialty of orthodontics, also at Boston University. Dr. O’Donnell is an active member of a number of professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, Northeast Society of Orthodontics, American Academy of Physiological Medicine, Berkshire District Dental Society, Academy of Laser Dentistry, and American Academy of Sleep Medicine, among others.
